La Barraca beach and Portitxol Island

A delightful day can be had at La Barraca beach or otherwise known as Portitxol Beach. A pebble beach with clear waters for snorkeling and exploring – you won’t know where the time went!

Located Cape Prim and Cape Negre, Barraca beach is 900 meters long and is lined with (private) typical fishing huts with white washed walls and blue doors and shutters. Making it the most uploaded destination on Instragram in 2018.

Across the clear waters is Portitxol Island which is a botanical paradise. La Barraca is a pebble beach, ideal for non-sand lovers.

After the summer of 2018, Javea town hall decided to offer a free shuttle service (like they did at Granadella Beach) to avoid traffic problems in the area. Although there is parking if you get there early enough.

Cala Clemence and La Barraca are both restaurants located at the beach. The latter being very typical and rough and ready and the first being super chic!
Other services located at La Barraca Beach include life guards, toilets and sun bed and shade rental.
