The Real Estate Market Today

This may be your fourth, third, second or first recession experience, whichever it is, its always a stressful time for property owners and a time met with nervous anticipation for investors and regular buyers alike. Lets face it, there\'s no running from it or hiding from it, the best way forward is to do as they do in Spain, \"take the bull by the horns\" and deal with it.

The best way forward for ALL parties is to keep a level mind, not to panic (buy or sell) and - providing you have a reliable agent - take advice.  Lets face it, none of us want to be told what to do and nobody should force you into a corner - but listen to the advice you are being given, take it on board, maybe even take a day or two to digest it, THEN be honest with yourself and heed the advice, providing you know it has come from a reliable source.

The worst culprit in any recession is the press / news, afterall, it\'s the worlds biggest \"stage\", if there is no other news then they have to dramatise the news there is.  Having said this, there is no denying the dramatic fall in un-employment, the huge interest rate increases but step back and ask yourself - if we were not so \"informed\" on a daily basis, would there be such a domino affect? World wide?

Humans - which most of us are - are creatures of habit, we tend to follow the rest of the crowd, BUT we also adjust very quickly and make the most of any situation, no matter how difficult.

Those that have been through a recession in previous years are more adept to handling the current situation, those who have not yet adjusted need to do so, and quickly.

Other factors thankfully come into play, interest rates have been slashed, exchange rates mean you can take advantage of the market, we\'ve all been through the mill recently and must take heart that without fail, in the near future the market will improve.

TOP TIP for sellers: \"don\'t chase a falling market, jump ahead of it to achieve your goals\".

TOP TIP for buyers: \"take advice, take a chance, be sensible and be prepared to move quickly in order to achieve your goals\"
